Rahat Yasir is a thirteen-time Microsoft AI MVP and one of Canada's Top 30 Software Developers Under 30 (2018). Across USask's P2IRC, Immersive Design Studios, Intact Financial, OSEDEA, CAE, ISAAC Instruments, IATA and Broadsign he built deep expertise in AI, data, and large-scale enterprise systems — taking data and AI from strategy through to delivery at enterprise scale.
He is the co-author of Driving Business Transformation with Modern Data and AI Strategies (Apress). His work has earned the AI100 Early Adopters Award, the DataIQ Data & AI for Good Hero Organization Award, and the DataIQ North America Grand Prix (2025).

The future of the world is bright with the new and emerging technologies of data and AI — they are here to make human life easier, better and more efficient.
What's next
I have worked across the industry from researcher to software engineer, to system designer, architect and now technology leadership. I am always looking for what is next — to bring the most value and stay ahead of the curve.
Giving back to society
Giving back to the people around me is why I share meals with people nearby, support local animal shelters and sponsor a scholarship for students with disability needs.
